Salem Nicholl is a 26 year old digital artist based in Ontario, Canada. He graduated with honours from Humber College’s Visual & Digital Arts program in 2018. Creating is not just a hobby for Salem- it’s a daily necessity. Ever since he was able to pick up a pencil or brush he has been making art in one way or another. Though most of his experience and formal training has been in drawing he is known to be skilled in many mediums such as; interactive stories, poetry, sewing, painting, and collage.
Inspiration can come in many forms to Salem. Perhaps the biggest is from games, most notably Dungeons & Dragons. When he isn’t playing it he is likely listening to others do so while he draws. Another source is from the macabre. Though it may not appear to be the case Salem takes a great deal of inspiration from things such as horror movies, zombies, and the general concept of death itself. This usually appears in his work as cute depictions of undead beings and light gore.
